AION 2 Beginner Guide

AION 2 beginner guide for the live Global service: region and class choice, leveling milestones, Expeditions and the level-45 transition.

AION 2 Global is live. For a fresh character, make the permanent choices first, follow the main story, use Exploration Expeditions as progression checkpoints, then switch from character level to item-level progression at 45.

Best first-session order

  • Choose your region, faction and server with friends before investing heavily in a character.
  • Pick one of the eight Global classes by role and playstyle rather than copying a Korea-only tier list.
  • Use the main story as the leveling spine. Exploration Expeditions appear at level 20, 28, 35 and 45.
  • Treat level 45 as the start of endgame progression: Conquest and other systems begin using item level as the important gate.
  • When a Korea/Taiwan guide disagrees with the Global client, follow the Global client and current Global notices.

First-session checklist

Use this checklist when starting a new Global character. Make the choices that are hard to undo first, then keep the main story moving until the first real build and dungeon systems open.

Before you invest time

  • Choose the region, faction and server where your friends or Legion will play.
  • Pick a class by role and combat loop; use the Class Picker if you are undecided.
  • Confirm Steam/PURPLE account linking only if you need the same character through both launchers.
  • Check keybinds and performance before entering group content.

Early progression

  • Follow the main story as your leveling spine instead of clearing every side objective immediately.
  • At level 20, start learning Krao Cave Exploration; the next Expedition checkpoints are level 28 and 35.
  • Stigma progression begins from level 22, so start shaping the build before level cap.
  • Keep gear upgrades practical while leveling; save deeper socket/reroll investment for pieces you expect to keep.
