Vakron Sky Island is a mechanics dungeon, not just an item-level check. The final boss asks the whole party to jump in rhythm, glide over a room-wide blast and break the correct prison rock together.

Boss mechanics
- When one player gets the thorn mark, move away from the group before the circle resolves. If rooted, teammates attack the thorns immediately to free the player.
- Surging Thorn sends three expanding rings from Vakron. Jump each ring as it reaches you, then jump again and start gliding so the final room-wide ground blast passes underneath.
- Lodestone Prison pulls the group in, binds everyone briefly and raises rocks around the party. One rock is red: focus that rock together, break it and leave through the gap before the blast.
- Surging Thorn and Lodestone Prison repeat later in the fight, so do not spend every mobility resource on the first cycle.
- Outside bosses, Vakron's Gaze stacks over time. Clear it with Fog Spiritstones or by reaching the areas that reset the debuff before it roots you.
Role notes
- Tank: hold Vakron centrally and keep his front predictable so the rest of the party can read the arena.
- Melee DPS: immediately swap to thorns/red rock when the mechanic demands it; boss uptime is worthless if a teammate or the party dies.
- Ranged DPS: if the red prison rock is hard to target, enable attack target-changing rather than wasting the short escape timer.
- Healer: cover rooted players until the thorns break and keep the group stable after failed ring jumps, but the prison still requires everyone to attack.
Why groups wipe
- Players jump the rings but forget to glide for the final blast.
- The group attacks grey prison rocks instead of focusing the red one.
- Marked players stay stacked and root multiple teammates with the thorn circle.
- At Thamon, physical classes attack during the red roar or magic classes attack during the purple roar, healing the boss.
Mid-boss reminders
- Tiere gives every player an Isolation Zone poison that hurts nearby allies: spread instead of stacking.
- Thamon red roar means physical classes stop attacking; purple roar means magic classes stop. Hitting through the wrong color heals him.
- If an ally is petrified by Thamon, hit them to break the petrification before the follow-up.
