Best Regen Aniimo: getting your skills back faster
Regen restores energy, not health. That is the distinction people miss most often: a regen unit does not keep you alive, it brings your skills back faster. Seven species out of 86 carry the role, and the best of them ranks 8th overall.

Regen is the most misunderstood role in the game, because the name suggests health. It is not: it restores energy, so it shortens the wait between skills.
The top of the ranking
Regen is not Heal
This is the confusion to clear first, because it costs a team slot:
| Role | What it restores | When it earns its place |
|---|---|---|
| Heal | Health points | When you take more than you kill |
| Regen | Energy | When skills are your main lever |
Both roles exist separately in the game, and neither replaces the other. A regen unit will not stop you going down; a healer will not bring your Ultimate back sooner.
How they are ranked
| Criterion | Weight |
|---|---|
| REGEN | 50 % |
| Stat total | 30 % |
| HP | 20 % |
Regeneration is half the score. HP counts for 20 % because an Aniimo that goes down regenerates nothing — the same logic as for healing.
When it earns its slot
- In long fights, where you recast the same skill several times.
- In a team whose damage comes from skills, not from basic attacks.
- Alongside a breaker, to chain BREAK windows more often.
Conversely, in a fight settled in one rotation it never gets to exist. There, a support or a breaker gives you more.
Only seven species carry the role, across five elements: Fire and Water have two each, Grass, Electric and Dark one apiece. The full split is in building a team.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Regen and Heal?
Heal restores HP; Regen restores energy so skills come back faster. They are separate roles in the game and do not replace each other.
How many Regen Aniimo are there?
Seven out of 86. It is the second rarest role, after Heal.
How are they ranked?
REGEN at 50 %, total at 30 %, HP at 20 %. Regeneration dominates, and HP counts because an Aniimo that goes down regenerates nothing.
Do I need a Regen unit?
It earns its slot when your skills are your main damage lever, and in fights long enough to recast several of them.
