Best starter Aniimo: what to catch first

Hummin, Chirpi, Budclaw and Flutternym are candidates to compare using their stats and roles. Multiple listed regions do not guarantee an early catch: access requirements, encounters and team performance still need in-game verification.

The early-game ranking

This ranking only keeps Lumin-stage Aniimo that actually appear in the world: the ones you can run into right now, not end-of-progression goals. The full method is explained on the ranking page.

Check access before choosing

Our database lists 30 Lumin-stage Aniimo associated with exploration regions. Region counts describe the spread of listed locations, not when you can reach them.

A first-catch recommendation also needs verified routes, requirements and encounter conditions. Until those are confirmed, this comparison remains theoretical.

Four profiles to compare

Hummin — Break, Grass

467 stat points, including 94 HP and 80 Break. It is listed in five regions. That count does not establish that it is the easiest to obtain.

Its Break role matters a lot when you are starting: breaking the enemy gauge is exactly what you want before throwing an Aniipod. One Break on the team speeds up every catch you make.

Chirpi — Support, Wind

452 points, with 97 HP and 83 ATK: a sturdy, flexible profile. Found in four regions.

Its support role suggests a possible pairing with a Break profile, but skills and synergies need testing before recommending the combination.

Budclaw — Break, Rock and Grass

454 points, four regions, and above all a dual element (Rock and Grass). Two elements on a single creature is free elemental coverage for your team.

Flutternym — Heal, Wind

437 points with 94 HP, across four regions. Its healing role is worth comparing with options on your route; early accessibility is not established here.

If you find them, do not walk past

These other profiles are listed in one region each. That does not necessarily mean they are available later: check the region and its access requirements.

What this ranking does not say

Be clear about the method: this comparison rests on base stats recorded from the official index and on how many regions each creature appears in. It does not account for:

  • skill effects, which can flip a ranking;
  • team synergies;
  • how an Aniimo feels to play, which no table captures.

That is deliberately transparent: the full method is on the early game tier list. It will be reworked by hand once we have played enough.

After the early game

Every Aniimo on this page evolves. Check its line on its own page: a good Lumin often becomes a very good Gamma. The overall tier list ranks the whole roster across all stages.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best starter Aniimo?

Hummin is a candidate based on its 467 base stat points and Break role. Those numbers alone do not establish the best first catch: access and skills also matter.

Should I reroll for a good start?

This comparison covers creatures listed in exploration. It does not establish whether restarting is worthwhile or cover every acquisition system.

Will these picks change?

Yes. This ranking rests on base stats, not the meta. It will be revised by hand once the game has been played seriously.
