1. Setting Out Again

Dr. Lewis has given you your first task: reach the Branch and earn its recognition, collecting Lumin Amber along the way. Nicole knows the area well and tags along. First, she shows you a Bloom, which syncs your map.

You gather Lumin Amber, including some at the bottom of a river: Nicole explains that when you step into water, you automatically Twine with a swimming Aniimo you caught earlier. At the Branch, you touch it. Dr. Lewis explains what just happened: the Vein has accepted you, and this world has opened its doors to you. Offering Lumin Amber restores the Branch’s energy and deepens your bond with it; the stronger the Vein, the more active the local Aniimo, and every blessing makes you stronger.

Your companion, meanwhile, can still sense the huge winged Aniimo you spotted when leaving the Outpost. Near the Branch, it finds a feather the creature left behind. Feeling the warm, steady power around the tree, it wonders whether that Aniimo is connected to the Branch and to the Prismana Flow. Dr. Lewis also thinks the feather belongs to that Aniimo, and sends you to find Lana to continue your introductory training.

Step by step

  1. Follow Nicole, then touch the Bloom to sync your map.
  2. Collect Lumin Amber before heading to the Branch. Some of it comes from catching a Blessed Budclaw: Nicole points out that Budclaws love digging and hiding underground, so search the area.
  3. Find Nicole by the river and gather the Lumin Amber in the water.
  4. Keep collecting crystals up to the Sacred Tree, then go to the Branch and activate it.
  5. Talk to Dr. Lewis.
  6. Follow your companion, who has found something, then explore the idol ruins.

Section rewards: 300 Safaris, 5 Growth Flowers, 10,000 Credits, 1,920 Aniimo EXP, 3 Tumblers.

2. Chasing the Clouds

Next stop: Nimbus Fields, where you need to find Lana, an upperclasswoman at the Institute, for your orientation lesson. She is so absorbed in her Nimbi research that she forgot your appointment, and she is… Twined with a Nimbi. She explains that white Nimbi are the basic form, while black, gold and blue ones are forms shaped by weather and region.

First test: find out what the Emberpup family is up to, always gathered around a Flameruff. Twined with an Emberpup, you slip in among them and follow them to a large cube-shaped building. Your companion remembers: these are Sanctums, built by people long ago, able to repair the Vein. The Emberpups have guarded this one for generations, because its trials help them grow. Once you clear the trial, one of them starts to transform.

Lana calls you back to order, then moves on to the final test: defeating the Turbo, leader of the local Nimbi. You win, and Lana explains Primegy, the resource that powers your equipment. Back with Dr. Lewis, you officially become a Polaris Institute student, tasked with representing Astra and the expedition across Idyll. He also announces that the real work starts now: an Elite Training program is waiting on your terminal. The chapter ends on an invitation to Bloomville’s Bloom Festival, and the reward that comes with it is fittingly called the “Bloomville Invitation Gift”.

A Sanctum: floating stone blocks laced with glowing lines around a blue doorway: in-game map preview

Step by step

  1. Ride the wind to the grassland and activate the Bloom.
  2. Find Lana: she’s the Nimbi wearing glasses.
  3. Twine with an Emberpup, quietly blend in with the family and follow it.
  4. Go to the Sanctum and pass its trial.
  5. If you don’t have a Flameruff yet, level your Emberpup up to 12, then help it evolve. Exact evolution requirements are on the species page (Emberpup evolution).
  6. On your way to the Turbo, catch a Flutternym and an Iris.
  7. Join Lana and defeat the Turbo. Lana reminds you it’s a Wind type: pick a suitable element (element chart) and gain a few levels first. She also hands you an Aniipod Ultra, which improves your odds of catching an Alpha Aniimo like it. An objective also asks you to level your companion to 15 (the in-game text says “Helion” whichever one you picked).
  8. Go back to Lana.
  9. If you don’t have the Nimbus Fields Badge yet, report to Lana, catch 7 different Aniimo in the region to earn it, then go back to her.
  10. Talk to Dr. Lewis to learn about Elite Training: this is the step that ends the chapter.

Step rewards: 100 Safaris for each of the Bloom, Emberpup family, Sanctum and Turbo steps; 1 Aniipod Ultra when you find Lana; for the Turbo: 500 Safaris, 1 Irisalis Petal, 50 Glimmer, 1 Lumin Amber: Breezy Plains, 5 Gust Stones; 1 Bloomville Invitation Gift when you ask about Elite Training.

Section rewards: 200 Safaris, 5 Growth Flowers, 20,000 Credits, 2,000 Aniimo EXP, 300 Voxel Coins.

Frequently asked questions

How do you earn the Branch's recognition?

Pick up Lumin Amber on the way, walk to the Branch and touch it to activate it. Dr. Lewis then explains that offering Lumin Amber restores its energy and deepens your bond with it.

What is Primegy for?

According to Lana, your equipment from Astra runs on Primegy. Everyday actions cost almost nothing, but fighting strong Aniimo or setting out on big adventures uses it up. Everyone from Astra has a limited quota, which you can refill with a Primegy Battery.

Why doesn't chapter 2 end after the Turbo?

Dr. Lewis requires the Nimbus Fields Badge. If you don't have it yet, the quest asks you to catch 7 different Aniimo in the region before going back to Lana. She recommends a Flutternym and an Iris if you're missing some.
