Level, Titles and Elite Training: how to progress in Aniimo

Your character levels up with Safaris, but your title caps that level. To lift the cap, finish the required Elite Training courses, reach the required level, then pass the Title Promotion assessment. Log (Lore), Core Courses and the Institute Guide’s Daily Activity are the fastest Safari sources.

The system in three lines

  • Safaris are your character’s experience. Enough Safaris = one more level, sometimes with a reward.
  • Your title sets a maximum level. Until you promote it, you are capped.
  • Elite Training unlocks the promotion assessment that moves you to the next title.

Levelling is not just a number. The help center points out that your level raises your Aniimo’s level cap and unlocks character abilities that make exploring easier. It adds that a higher level makes higher-level Aniimo easier to catch — BINI #9 even warns you when a target is too strong for you.

Where Safaris come from

The game lists these sources, from the most efficient to the most spread out:

SourceWhat the game says
Log – LoreA quick way, along with main quests
Elite Training – Core CoursesA quick way; its goals give “lots of Safaris”
Institute Guide – Daily ActivityDo it every day to “easily” earn large amounts
New catches and reportsCatch a new species and report it at an Outpost
Area Collection ProgressAnother important source named by the help
ExplorationQuests, Lumin Amber, cleared Sanctums, defeated Alphas, opened chests, Pathfinders challenged out in the world
CraftingTurning a semi-finished Homeland item into a finished one with Primegy also grants Safaris

Pathfinder titles

When you join the Polaris Institute you receive a starting title. The next ones are earned in order:

Title (EN)Title (FR)
Rookie (Special Admission)Première année (Admission spéciale)
Student I, II, IIIÉlève I, II, III
Wayfarer I, II, IIIExcursionniste I, II, III
Trailblazer I, IIAvant-garde I, II

According to the in-game title info, promoting your title:

  • raises your level cap, and with it your Aniimo’s training cap;
  • unlocks more features and game modes;
  • grants item rewards;
  • gives access to more abilities: after a promotion you can learn new Active Skills (with Demo Tapes) and Passive Talents (with Report Cards).

Some unlocks are spelled out by tutorials: Held Items when you reach Student III, Aniimo Capability Awakening when you reach Wayfarer I. The Shop help adds that certain titles unlock perks for buying higher-grade items.

Promotion assessments

When your training is ready, BINI #9 gets a call from Dr. Lewis. Each promotion is a short quest in the Growth Story (chapter “Veinwalker Assessment”): a senior student or an instructor puts you through a practical test, and Dr. Lewis gives you a quiz at the Outpost.

QuestTitle earnedExaminer and location

The chapter then takes you back to the Institute for Instructor Lita’s assessments (“Starlight’s Witness”, then “Starlight’s Glory” at Astra’s Boomblast Arena). The “Polaris’ Commendation” chapter wraps up Elite Training.

Dr. Lewis’s quiz answers are collected on our Dr. Lewis quiz answers page.

Elite Training

PC shortcut: F3. It is a set of growth goals tailored to Pathfinders, and its quests pay out Safaris, Glimmer and other rewards.

Core Courses

They are split into chapters. To finish a chapter and claim its rewards, complete its 4 required quests. To promote your title, complete the required quests and reach the required character level.

ChapterTitleWhere it happens
1First Steps with AniimoForest of Falling Stars
2Charge Into Battle!Beast Fang Ridge (and your Homeland)

5Proof of Trials · Dance of Flowers and ThornsRosetower Woods
6To Distant Horizons · Echo of the Mysterious KeepZephyrus Landbridge

Goals follow the game’s progression: catching and hatching, earning an area Collection Badge, beating the local Alpha, spending Primegy, infusing Lumin Amber into the Branch, trying the Holo-Battle Sim… Chapter 7, for example, asks you to raise the Breezy Plains Branch to Prismana Radiance.

Elite Training Points

Elite Training quests also award Elite Training Points. Save enough of them and you can claim Somniwing, an Ultra Rare Aniimo, from the Institute.

The four elective paths

Alongside Core Courses, four paths offer themed goals:

  • Path of Twining: catch and hatch, train, star up, equip Held Items and Runes.
  • Path of Discovery: explore, take on Alphas and Omegas, collect Lumin Amber, nurture the ecosystem.
  • Path of Victory: Elemental Counters, Holo-Battle Sim and Interlink, Operation: Egg Heist.
  • Path of Splendor: your RV Homeland, Aniimo trips, friends, outfits and photos.

Milestone rewards are also tied to the number of badges you collect.

Badges and Pathfinder Challenges

Adventure Badges record your exploration feats, training results and chance encounters. The Polaris Institute certifies them before awarding them, and collecting them unlocks exclusive titles and privileges. You will find them under Character → Badges.

Pathfinder Challenges are fights against Institute students you meet around Idyll: Twine-mode battles with good rewards. Some elite Pathfinders offer badge challenges. Once beaten, your promotion examiners accept a rematch with stronger Aniimo:

Lita sends out Aniimo of several elements: the help recommends making good use of Elemental Counters.

The Courses module

The Courses module gathers playable tutorials. Each one grants a reward once completed:

  • Combat: Combat Tutorial, Elemental Counters, Spatial Counters.
  • Mobility: Fire, Water, Ice, Lightning and Shock Wave Interactions, Gravity Pull, Element Level.
  • Catch: Basic Catching, Advanced Catch: Tumbler.
  • Basic Controls: Twining, Snap Tutorial.
  • Astra Exploration: Try the Aniipod.

They are handy if a mechanic gives you trouble. Next step: learn how to train your Aniimo.

Frequently asked questions

Why has my character stopped gaining levels?

You have hit your title’s level cap. BINI #9 flags it: work through Elite Training up to Title Promotion to keep levelling.

Can my Aniimo go above my level?

No. The help center states that an Aniimo’s level is limited by your own level. Promoting your title also raises your Aniimo’s training cap.

What is the fastest way to earn Safaris?

The game names the Log (Lore category), Elite Training Core Courses and, every day, the Institute Guide’s Daily Activity. New catches and Area Collection Progress are also big contributors.

Where can I see my title’s level cap?

In the title info on the Character screen: it shows the level needed for the next assessment and the maximum level allowed for your current title.
