1. The Perfect Path
Jenny, a Baleetle who charges at everything head first, finds a beautiful mud ball outside her home. Convinced its owner crashed mid-race, she sets off at full speed to find them, pushing the ball along and dragging you with her.
The local Baleetles explain that offering a mud ball is a classic gift: round and beautiful, it proves you mean it. But none of them could have rolled one this perfect. The trail leads to Johnny, a perfectionist Baleetle who runs the track over and over, obsessed with the legendary “Perfect Racer”. He finally admits it: he is the one who left the ball at Jenny’s door, pretending some careless Baleetle had lost it. He admires the way she throws herself into everything.
At that very moment, Jenny crashes into a rock, evolves into a Bouldus, and the stoneflower blooms. Calmer now, she explains that every Baleetle has two consciousnesses: the reckless Baleetle Consciousness and the levelheaded Ball Consciousness, which is currently in charge. She returns the ball to Johnny, who never says what he really feels and only claims he wanted her to see how perfect it was. Delighted, Jenny hands him a lumpy ball of her own and speeds off. Johnny then invites you to the race he has been waiting for. He finishes it without a single mistake and evolves into a Waleetle. He realizes he only feels perfect on the track, and sets off to find new ones.

2. A Fragrant Journey: Berylline Vale
Not far from the Elder’s house in Bloomville, perfumer Marlowe is promoting his latest creation, “Stinky Sea Breeze”, to passers-by who keep their distance. Convinced the future belongs to his blends of unusual ingredients, he asks you to find him something “strange”. Berylline Vale, famous for its odd stones, is a good place to start.
You bring him Stoneflower Dew, which he treats like treasure. He mixes it with Skippy tears, Cornet tailfeathers and a dozen other rare materials, but forgets to stir it properly: when the bottle opens, you both collapse. Leah walks by to buy some Stinky Sea Breeze, as a keepsake of Hayes, a sailor she knows. Marlowe is over the moon: he finally has his first regular customer.

Once you are far enough into the chapter, the rumor “The Perfect Racer” introduces you to an old Bouldus who saw the track appear; it gives 10 Glimmer and the Archival Chip - Tracks of Berylline Vale.
