1. Flowers and Thorns - Sea of Flowers
In an abandoned house in the Sea of Flowers, Wildflower Cottage, a group of Budsquires is holding a tea party. Their storyteller tells the tale of a brother and a sister: the shy little sister always hides behind her brother, who swears to face fearsome enemies, master his thorn and evolve into a Thornblade to protect her. Every Thornblade has its own reason for becoming one, she says, and its thorn carries that wish.
To pass the time between chapters, she sends you out to challenge the four Lethal Thorns outside. The rest of the story explains why: the brother struck a deal with every opponent, and the loser had to break their own thorn. One stormy day, he lost. His sister wanted to fight in his place, not realizing that taking away his role as protector would hurt him more. He left home that day, convinced that becoming a Thunderstorm Thornblade — unbreakable thorns, a cold heart — would make him her protector again. All his sister wanted was his company.
At the end, the storyteller drops the act: she is Aria, a writer from Bloomville, telling you her new book, Flowers and Thorns, and hoping you’ll buy the official edition. Truth or fiction? She leaves it open and points you at the Thunderstorm Thornblade for the real ending. Before leaving, she asks you to look after Awen if you meet her in Rosetower Woods — call it her advance payment for the free story.
Step by step
- During the day, join the Budsquire tea party at Wildflower Cottage, in the Sea of Flowers.
- Defeat the four Lethal Thorns outside.
- Go back to hear the rest of the story.
Section rewards: 1,000 Safaris, 30 Glimmer, 22,500 Credits, 30 Sparkling Crystals.
2. Flowers and Thorns - Rosetower Wood
A maze of thorns stands in the eastern part of Rosetower Woods. The First Lethal Thorn guards its entrance: you are not on the guest list for the princess’s tea party, so she orders you out — then fights you. A gentle voice cuts in: Princess Melloblum was expecting you. She calls you an “accomplice of the Outsiders”, the people who once lived among the Budsquires and whose language the previous princess taught her in fragments. Seeing a Twine in her youth is how she recognized what you are.
She should have welcomed you with the Dance of Blissful Bloom, the gift of every Melloblum, which spreads joy. But that power faded until it was gone. The First Lethal Thorn blames herself: the princess was pricked by thorns during an outing up high. Melloblum corrects her: the loss was gradual, and thorns prick every Budsquire. Since that day she has not left her room, and her tea parties have been cut short.
Searching the maze and its four tales, you work it out: what protects also confines. “Only the hardest thorns can protect the most beautiful flowers”, says the Budsquire saying, and ever since the previous princess was lost, everyone wants to protect this one at any cost — even if it hides the world from her. The First Lethal Thorn apologizes and offers to step outside with her. Just then a group of exhausted Budsquires arrives: they heard of their “home” and suffered to reach it. White flowers have bloomed outside and put the grumpy monsters to sleep. Melloblum chooses to stay and welcome those who will return — and her dance comes back, which she gives to you.
Step by step
- Head to the eastern part of Rosetower Woods, to the Maze of Thorns.
- Defeat the First Lethal Thorn guarding the entrance.
- Talk to Princess Melloblum.
- Find out why she can no longer dance: explore the maze and collect the four Maze of Thorns tales.
- Come back and tell her what you understood.
Section rewards: 1,000 Safaris, 30 Glimmer, 22,500 Credits, 30 Sparkling Crystals.
3. Sightseeing
The Dance of Blissful Bloom changed the woods. White flowers with a calming pulse have bloomed everywhere, and the energy of the Cubbo’s roses is different: BINI suggests Twining with a Budsquire and striking those roses to see for yourself. At the very top of Whiterose Tower stands a single Whitesnow Rose — is it standing guard, or taking in the view on Melloblum’s behalf?
Step by step
- Travel around Rosetower Woods to see how it has transformed.
- Twine with a Budsquire and hit a Cubbo’s rose: you get a Stamen of Cubbo’s Rose.
- Go see the white flowers carpeting the wilderness.
- Climb up to look at the Whitesnow Rose atop Whiterose Tower.
Section rewards: 400 Safaris, 30 Glimmer, 4,500 Credits, 30 Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystals, plus 1 Stamen of Cubbo’s Rose at the rose step.
4. A Fragrant Journey: Rosetower Woods
Rosetower Woods is dangerous for the people of Bloomville, and yet the perfumer Awen has ventured in. She explains why this particular spot is relatively safe: according to her grandfather’s perfumer notes, Cubbo’s roses release a cloud of pollen that sends Cubbos into a deep sleep. She suspects a link between those roses and her ancestors, and heads for an old perfume workshop inside Whiterose Tower.
In Bloomville everyone has their own scent, and the differences are slight — except hers, which is nothing like anyone else’s. Her parents never explained. In the tower, the notes settle it: Lisa, her mother, and “the couple from Azureville” who turn out to be her grandparents, kept from going home after the great upheaval a century ago. Her scent simply comes from somewhere else. Awen decides to see Azureville, the hometown she has never known — unlike her sister Aria, who only ever looks ahead.
You bring her a Whitesnow Rose Aromathyst. She smells snow, happiness and memory in it: probably what home smelled like in her grandparents’ hearts. Their notes hold several formulas all called “Home” — first happiness and peace, then bitterness, and finally a cold, lingering ache. She blends the legendary perfume Home and gives it to you, wishing you a place you miss and a place to return to.
Step by step
- Find Awen in Rosetower Woods (clue “A Perfumer Who Ventured Deep into Danger?”), during the day.
- Meet her at Whiterose Tower.
- Find a way into the tower, then explore the interior: that’s where the notes are.
- For the aromathyst: Twine with a Dewy, gather nectar at the top of the tower, then brew it at the Dewy nest.
- Give the Whitesnow Rose Aromathyst to Awen.
- The workshop has seized up: ram the iron crate into the stone wall at the end of the track, then smash the stones jamming the gears to restore perfume production.
Section rewards: 1,000 Safaris, 30 Glimmer, 22,500 Credits, 30 Sparkling Crystals, 1 bottle of Home.
Home is the legendary perfume that gives back the white color of the Rosetower Colorless Dream, in the Fragrant Dream.

- The First Lethal Thorn: the princess’s devoted guard, who lives to protect her — sometimes too much.
