Legend of the Thunderlands: Aniimo story and walkthrough

A two-section Journey chapter set in Blitzwood. In the daytime, Bolties line up under the Blitz Tree to “call” friends they have lost: you uncover their secret and help a young Bolty answer the calls. Then, in Bloomville, you help perfumer Avetine and her apprentice Baboni make the legendary perfume Golden Wish.

1. An Answer from the Heavens

Lightning never stops striking around the Blitz Tree, the symbol of Blitzwood. In the daytime, Bolties line up there to make phone calls. One of them is chatting with Sariou, a faraway friend and the only one who wants to be its friend. On the other end of the line, the voice answers slowly, a bit like an old man’s.

You uncover the secret: a Bolty grandpa and his granddaughter hide inside the hollow trunk and pretend to be the lost Bolties everyone is trying to reach. The granddaughter has just taken over and is still learning the ropes. Grandpa asks you to keep it quiet, and his granddaughter asks you to help her practice by playing three regular callers: Sariou, the friend; Cultie, the crush; and Grandma Bolty, the grandmother she never knew.

Call after call, you comfort Bolties who feel lonely, too ordinary or weird, you receive a 723rd love confession, and you hear a little Bolty dream of a grandma who would listen to her talk about her day. The lightning keeps scrambling the line. Then the storm breaks. The young Bolty, who says she heard nothing through the interference, first thinks the Bolties in the sky are scolding her for her lies. Then she changes her mind: that thunder is an answer. Bolties believe their lost friends live in the “World of Wonders”, up in the sky, and she and her grandpa hide here to help everyone call them. One question remains: who exactly were you talking to?

Step by step

  1. In the daytime, listen to the Bolties’ conversation beneath the Blitz Tree.
  2. Find out who it’s calling: this is where you meet the Frizzy Young Bolty and the Frizzy Old Bolty.
  3. Twine with a Bolty and make a call under the Blitz Tree. Repeat for each of the three roles: Sariou, Cultie and Grandma Bolty.
  4. Check what’s beneath the Blitz Tree.
  5. Reply to the Frizzy Young Bolty.

Section rewards: 1,000 Safaris, 30 Glimmer, 15,000 Credits, 30 Sparkling Crystals, 1 Capacitous Battery.

2. A Fragrant Journey: Blitzwood

In Bloomville, perfumer Avetine would like to set off on a journey, but she worries too much about her apprentice Baboni, who still has to make the Golden Wish perfume to graduate. Baboni, meanwhile, thinks her teacher doesn’t like her. So Avetine loudly offers a big reward for an ingredient: the Golden Answer, the treasure of Blitzwood.

You bring back the Golden Answer and tell them the Bolties’ story. Baboni doesn’t understand how a current can carry what’s in someone’s heart, but she heard, like all of Bloomville, what Avetine was shouting: her teacher worries about her. The apprentice immediately makes Golden Wish. Avetine senses a hint of bitterness in it and decides to stay a little longer. She gives you the legendary perfume, one of the perfumes of the Fragrant Dream.

Step by step

  1. In Bloomville, visit perfumers Avetine and Baboni (clue “Perfumer Avetine’s Troubles”).
  2. Search for the Golden Answer in Blitzwood. You need to have finished An Answer from the Heavens.
  3. Give the Golden Answer to Avetine.
  4. Chat with Avetine.

Section rewards: 600 Safaris, 1 Golden Wish, 30 Glimmer, 7,500 Credits, 50 Breezy Plains Dewdrop Crystals.

  • The Calling Bolty: a Bolty the others find weird, who calls its friend Sariou.
  • The Frizzy Young Bolty: the granddaughter who just took over the hidden post inside the Blitz Tree.
  • The Frizzy Old Bolty: her grandpa, who answered the calls before her.
  • Avetine: a Bloomville perfumer from a line of legendary perfumers.
  • Baboni: her somewhat scatterbrained apprentice.

One rumor extends this chapter, covered in Rumors and clues: “Nighttime Visitor”. The Frizzy Old Bolty suggests you hide behind the Blitz Tree at night to listen to some mysterious visitors.

Do I have to play all three roles on the phone?

Yes. The young Bolty asks you to play Sariou, Cultie and Grandma Bolty, and the objective “Twine with a Bolty and make a call under the Blitz Tree” comes up three times, once per role.
