Potential and Capability Awakening: understanding Aniimo progression
Each attribute has Innate and Acquired Potential. Capability Awakening raises the acquired portion, while their combined value cannot exceed 20 per attribute. Potential affects how stats grow as an Aniimo levels up.

Two components for each of six attributes
The client help describes two separate values:
| Component | Role | How it can change |
|---|---|---|
| Innate Potential | Set when an Aniimo is born | Special methods, including Capafruit, can increase it |
| Acquired Potential | Developed through progression | Capability Awakening increases it for a selected attribute |
Higher Potential means greater growth in the corresponding stat as an Aniimo levels up. Species base stats, your creature’s current stats and Potential are different things.
What the cap of 20 means
For a single attribute, Innate Potential + Acquired Potential ≤ 20.
For example, Innate Potential of 12 leaves room for up to 8 Acquired Potential. This only illustrates the cap: it does not specify the cost or number of awakenings needed to reach it.
The cap applies to each attribute individually. It is not a shared pool of 20 points across all six stats.
How Capability Awakening works
According to the help text, Capability Awakening consumes Star Dust and other items to raise Acquired Potential for a selected attribute. Later increases require more items of higher rarity.
The number of available awakenings can increase at certain Resonance Star Ranks and levels. The reviewed help entry does not provide those thresholds or a complete cost table. Check the progression screen before spending resources.
How to use this when choosing an Aniimo
Our Aniidex and tier lists show base stats. They help compare species, but do not fully describe your individual creature’s Potential or trained stats.
Before investing, consider the role you want it to fill, the relevant attribute’s Potential and the cost displayed in-game. Compare equivalent information: a higher species base-stat total alone does not explain every difference between trained creatures.
This explanation is based on the Capability Awakening help entry in client 1.0, extracted on September 16, 2026. Costs and unlock thresholds have not been extrapolated from the files.
Frequently asked questions
Is Innate Potential permanent?
It is set at birth, but the client help says special methods such as Capafruit can increase it.
Does the cap of 20 apply to stats?
No. It applies to combined Innate and Acquired Potential for one attribute, not to HP or attack itself.
