Aniimo quests that block: the eight most-reported dead ends
Most "broken" quests are not broken: the step shows one thing and requires another. Mysterious Presence tells you to look at the Voxel Cubes but wants nine Data Chips. The Warrior that asks you to come back tomorrow is really waiting for night. And the Holo-Battle Sim error is about the number of players, not your team composition.

In help channels, the same quests come up every day. In nearly every case the step is not broken: its label does not say what it wants. Here is what the client’s quest tables actually describe, blocker by blocker.
1. The Warrior: there are two of them
This is the main source of confusion — two quest chains carry that name.
- The Russet Highlands one (chapter 22) runs eleven steps. The eighth, “Pull out the Sword of Bravery”, is the one gating Helmut’s evolution into Pawney. That step’s recommended level is 50, and two quests must be finished before it opens.
- The Beast Fang Ridge one (chapter 20) is the one that “asks you to come back tomorrow”. In reality, seven of its steps require in-game night. There is no real-world wait: switch to night from the function menu and the quest resumes.
2. Mysterious Presence: the objective lies
You enter the chapter by holding a Voxel Cube, picked up in the north district. The step that blocks everyone reads “go and look at the Voxel Cubes”, but its real condition is holding nine Data Chips.
The label is misleading, and the tables give no source for those chips: you have to find them in game. If you are circling the cubes with nothing happening, it is not a progression bug.
3. The Holo-Battle Sim: it is about player count
The exact error reads:
Failed to enter. Party size does not meet the requirement.
So the requirement is about the number of players in your party, not the number or cost of the Aniimo on your team. No team-cost system exists anywhere in the game tables, incidentally.
The Simulator is a solo challenge; the Holo-Battle Nexus is the one played by up to four. If the Sim refuses you, leave your party before starting.
4. The two-player Sanctum, and the partner who leaves
The only instances in the game requiring at least two players are three Sanctums: Blazing Wings, Thunder Gale and Brave Spirit. That is what players call “the duo sanctum”.
Bad news: no mid-run rejoin is provided in the tables. If your partner leaves, the attempt has to be restarted from the beginning.
5. Fentuft and the Nimbi: three tuftballs
The blocker has two stacked conditions: being Twined with a Fentuft and holding three Joyous Tuftballs.
Those tuftballs are handed out by three optional scenes in the chain: skip them and you are short. The blocker after that one is scripted — the game tells you so at that point.
6. A Richer Harvest (Richer Yields)
The quest many players hunt for to upgrade their RV is called “Act Two: A Richer Harvest”. It cannot appear before the Prologue, Act One and the milestone that follows them are done.
The trap sits in its RV step: beyond the level 1 ecology module, it also wants twelve Rocks in the warehouse. That is the invisible condition that blocks most often.
7. Helgon’s island: a Helmut, not a “Pawni”
The quest asks you to own a Helmut and Twine with it. The word “Pawni” going around matches no creature: the near names are Jawling and Pawney, and neither fits here.
Without a Helmut on your team, the quest cannot advance.
8. The Golden Helm: the quest does not exist
No quest by that name appears in the tables. The only two texts mentioning it are attached to the rules of a third Helmut variant and its evolutions — and that variant has no entry point today.
In other words: it is not a quest you missed, it is content that is not open. We track cases like this on the unreleased Aniimo page.
The other gates, briefly
Four blockers have nothing to do with a specific quest:
- Your level cap. It follows your Pathfinder title, and rises by completing Elite Training up to the next promotion. Details in level, titles and Elite Training.
- Hidden caves and infinite stamina. These are not “ambers” to collect: they are levels 12 and 15 of a region’s Branch, each level costing ten points of Lumin Amber. The full table is in prismatic energy, Nurturing and weather.
- Co-op. The game says it outright: “You must leave the other player’s world to proceed with this quest.” Joining a friend does not advance your own story.
- Aniimo trading. It opens at Affinity level 2, “Good Friend”, then widens at the levels above. The tiers are detailed in friends, trading and Companion Mode.
Evolutions that refuse to trigger are a different subject, covered in evolutions that won’t trigger.
Frequently asked questions
The Warrior keeps telling me to come back tomorrow.
That is the Beast Fang Ridge Warrior: seven of its steps require in-game night, not a real-world day. Switch to night from the function menu and the quest moves on.
Mysterious Presence: I keep collecting Voxel Cubes and nothing happens.
The step reads "go and look at the Voxel Cubes" but the real condition is holding nine Data Chips. It is a misleading label, not a progression bug.
The Holo-Battle Sim refuses my team.
The message mentions composition size, but the word translated there means the number of players, not the number of Aniimo. The Sim is a solo challenge: leave your party before entering.
Where is the Golden Helm quest?
No quest by that name exists in the tables. The only two texts mentioning it are attached to a Helmut variant that has no entry point today.
What if my partner leaves a two-player Sanctum?
Nothing is provided for it: the tables describe no way to rejoin mid-run. You have to start the attempt again.
